Julie Meyer is worship leader at the famed International House of Prayer in Kansas City and regularly tours with her worshipful and thought-provoking songs. This album seems to have been influenced by both the Song of Songs and parts of the prophetic end-time passages in Scripture. There is a powerfully passionate feel to some of these songs ("Awakened To Love" and "I'd Rather Be With You" for example). Even on a first listen, you cannot doubt the depth of Julie's commitment and her desire to communicate something of her love for God through the music and the lyrics. "Beyond Tomorrow" speaks of hope beyond this life and the bonus track, a long track about a dream of Heaven, with a narrative voice above an ambient backing, is clearly (as she says of all the tracks) a musical reworking of material from her dreams. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly original (unless St John sang his Revelation back in AD90!).
