A very welcome new project from Judy, last heard of (by me at least) on a rather good 1993 album ‘Misdemeanours After Midnight’, tracks from which are still on the gold play list at UCB Europe. As is well known, Judy was born in London, was brought up in Barbados and now lives and works in Germany, and this CD, which checks in at nearly 58 minutes, is a mix of soulful pop vibes, power praise and worship and more than a hint of West Indian sunshine rhythms. “You Care For Us”, a Spring Harvest favourite from way back, has already hit the UCB Europe charts, “There’s You” is getting airplay as I write, and the rest of the 11 tracks (all Judy’s own songs) are of equally high standard. Recording and production are excellent, and it all adds up to a CD I can heartily recommend. Well worth your euros.
