Once toted as a white bluesman and a platinum selling one at that, Jonny has now expanded his musical territory and cut an explicitly Christian set. If you've not yet discovered this man's talents you will find that he is blessed with a rasping blue-eyed soul voice and considerable chops on the guitar. This album is a melting pot of soul, blues, pop and rock and the result is a classic sound with every track making its mark. Although signed with A&M, 'Turn Around' hearteningly demonstrates Jonny's not ashamed of putting his faith into songs. "One Person At A Time" is a pretty straight forward personal manifesto for sharing Christ with people. "Thankful" is a fabulous swampy funky thing with Michael McDonald contributing a duet so we have two blue eyed soul boys together. The most moving song is "Only A Man" which is more in an acoustic country vein where Lang shares his testimony in heartfelt fashion. From the positive gospel feel of "Anything Is Possible" to the catchy soul of "Bump In The Road", this is a winner all the way!
