This is the fourth solo release from the highly acclaimed American singer/songwriter. A mixture of well known covers ("Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot", "Flying Without Wings") and self penned material, the 12 tracks here share the common theme of love and relationships. This album has strong echoes of Steven Curtis Chapman, noticeably in tracks like the mellow pop/rock number "If I Didn't Have You". For the most part the less familiar songs work better, the driving "Serendipity" with its whispered parts, infectious chorus and powerful backing vocals showcase Jonathan's considerable vocal talent. Undoubtedly, the best cut however is the closing title track, an epic multi layered U2esque ballad featuring the Jubilee Singers which captures the listener's attention from the stripped down acoustic beginning to its uplifting climax. My major criticism with this album would be the lack of real spiritual depth to the lyrics but it does achieve its stated aim of encouraging you to fight for the relationships in your life that matter.
