An eclectic vibed gospel album from a highly talented vocalist and guitarist. Opening with the James Brown "c'mon" and brass jazz grooves of the title track and its track two reprise. A head nodding Tonex-like take on classic gospel themes "forget all your problems, forget all your worries, it's a brand new day." You then get quite a surprise when the guitar riff almost exactly mirroring U2's "End Of The World" kicks in at the beginning of "Gonna Lift You Up". Clearly Jonathan is an artist not afraid to explore some new genre influences. We then drift into more familiar waters with classic choir swaying soul on "Let The Redeemed Say So" and more stereotypical gospel worship. Fantastically produced, note perfect musicianship and highly groove-driven, the South African maestro clearly knows what he's doing.
