Don't be fooled by the acoustic guitar-holding, long hair on the cover. This guy's not a folksy style plucker, he's got a lot more going for him than that (no disrespect to folksy style pluckers intended). This is, of course another soulful set from Christendom's favourite blue-eyed soul-gospel man. As always, it's the shadow of Stevie Wonder which is much in evidence. And as usual, there's a Stevie cover, this time "Happier Than The Morning Sun", that our Jon does so well that you could be forgiven for thinking that you're listening to the great man himself. The aforementioned track runs a close second to the album's opener "You Are The One" - a jolly bouncing song which you could almost imagine Stevie bobbing about as he does, head shaking, teeth grinning in "I Just Called To Say I Love You" mode. Elsewhere the rest make for a very respectable first go, except the "To My Father's House", the Edwin Hawkins revival which doesn't quite fit - not quite his style really - stick with Stevie, Jon

I love this cd, packed with great songs for 90's ccm.
I had heard the sensational "Can't Live Without Jesus" on
ccm airwaves, and just loved it immensely, great
composition, thanx Jon. The cd starter song,
"You Are the One" another great pop standard for ccm. The
upbeat "On My Way to Heaven" great sax heard by Doug Webb &
on the cd title, this is Jon's testimony to the world, I
love it! Jon covers pop icon
Stevie Wonder's "Happier than the Morning Sun" &
top gospel icon Edwin Hawkins' "To My Father's House". Has
Stevie heard you're great cover yet?
the 6 minutes is worth every minute to listen, again great
sax provided by Doug Webb. This same year we heard
newcomers Audio Adrenaline's "Big House"
with the old familiar words "come and go with me to my
Father's house..." and Jon revives an old gospel standard
"To My Father's House",not a bad remake.
God Bless, Don
