Having already gained critically-acclaimed recognition with prior releases in Spanish, Houston-born Johnny Juarez of South-American parents hooks up with Sean Spicer, an Irish-Canadian, for a collation of original worship material written and performed by the well travelled duo. Juarez' South-American roots blossom in the Latin-styled "Let Me Tell You" at which point I began to appreciate the musical diversification of this album. From that to the blistering anthemic rock opener "Here I Go" to the worshipful "Treasure" and "My God" Juarez and band don't hang around when it comes to a bit of genre tinkering. It is not until "Ablaze" though that Sean Spicer really makes his mark. It is the moment that all self respecting guitarists long for. The hair is let down, the distortion is cranked up as Sean is let loose to display some straight old-fashioned rock, and I mean that in a good way! Vocally the ballads "Reflection Of You" and "Fly" in particular best display Juarez' clean cut vocal style more so than the all out rock melodies. Interspersing the straightforward worship writing are moments of personal experience and reflection all with the clear aim to uplift the name of Christ through a healthy variety to satisfy many musical tastes.

I own Johnny's CD and I like "Let Me Tell You" the best. It
is a very catchy tune. Another good one is "You Are There,"
which is very inspirational. I think Johnny is cool and I
hope he becomes more well known by people in the UK, who
should invite him "across the pond" for a series of
concerts.

I heard Johnny this weekend at the OPC and he has a heart of worship. He is truly an inspiration to young people.
