The worship leaders involved with the Passion events have today a huge platform for their songs and it is pleasing that Louis Giglio is bringing in new sounds and musical approaches to work alongside the Tomlins and Redmans. It is hard to pigeonhole the music on this album as it has its own style though with a strong R&B vibe and with Jimi making use of a programmable loop station on many of the tracks. This makes for distinctive if not strange sounds such as the bird squawk on "Prada (The Luxury Of Suffering)", the yelp on "Believe" or the repetitive squeaks on "Gave It All". The upbeat "GO" is a more orthodox acoustic guitar track as is the classic praise "Hallelujah". The standout song is "Beacon" with its infectious electronic riff and uncompromising lyrics "Sickness will bow/Darkness will bow/Death will bow to Jesus." Despite its diversity and risky sounds this is a welcome endeavour to break free from some of the stylistic straightjackets imposed on much modern worship.
