An excerpt from the Rochester, New York's band's Myspace page reads, "There is something special about a band that you have not heard before. . . and you feel like you do know them from note one." Although having never heard of or had the pleasure of listening to this band before, there is an instant and welcome familiarity to be found from the very beginning of this album. No stranger to CD releases, lead vocalist and songwriter Jim Drew actually has eight albums to his name prior to 'Escape Velocity' but this is the first with Humble Soul. Based in the disciplines of classic and modern rock music, yet continually drawing from blues, jazz, folk and country sounds, this album is truly eclectic. From Coheed and Cambria to Clapton, from Alter Bridge to America, it has something for everyone who loves to rock while the lyrics are beautifully crafted which will widen your smile and open your eyes. Definitely an album to be enjoyed over and over again.
