This young artist from Leeds, Jhardine has written, arranged, produced and performed this very eclectic mix of tracks. I did however note famed UK gospel producer Nicky Brown's name in the credits. I have to observe that 'Edify' doesn't contain the high quality production techniques that we have become used to from our American cousins, but there is certainly a good degree of raw talent showcased here. Her strong vocals speak clearly of her love and belief in Christ and also reflect on social issues. "Romans 8" is a boppy number, which will go down well in the clubs, as will "Spineless" which is a hard-hitting rap track. "I Just Want To Worship You" is a simple chorus suitable for congregational singing which shows off the beautiful voice of this burgeoning talent. A bit unfocussed but still an impressive debut.
