This is Jeremy's fourth album to date, his previous releases being received with high acclaim. Well established with Vineyard Music and now ministering at the renowned Bethel Church in Redding, California, here he works with producer Bobby Hartry with two tracks are produced by Ed Cash. 'Furious' does not disappoint. After an appropriate appetizer in the opening "Fall Afresh", Riddle throws out a formidable stream of rocking praise anthems - each highly appealing, thoroughly worshipful and utterly grabbing. The title track is a punchy number that ably shows how our God is furious, not in the sense of being angry or vicious, but "as a super-powerful force; stronger, deeper, broader than our vocabulary can fully describe". It's not surprising to see Jeremy team up with other Bethel musicians such as Brian Johnson to compose a couple of tracks, including the already popular "One Thing Remains", or the infectious "You Are Good", one of the most danceable songs of recent years, comparable to Redman's "Undignified" and a favourite in my own church. A couple of tracks are intriguing slow-burners, most notable being the moody, piano-based "Walk In Promise", which I found probably the most interesting tracks on the album. This is an excellent worship album from a singer/songwriter who has proved himself to be one of America's finest.
