Jeff and his band have recently released a new album, 'Glorious Day', but 'Shaken' is their first release, from 2003. It could be described as modern worship, along the same kind of road as Tim Hughes or Chris Tomlin. In fact, he pays homage to Tim Hughes by covering "Here I Am To Worship", along with songs such as Matt Redman's "Heart Of Worship" and Mark Altrogge's "I Stand In Awe". While these covers are good, they don't bring anything new to the originals. The album comes into its own with the songs Jeff co-wrote with David Parker and producer Joel Engle, such as "Where The River Runs" and the title track. The latter and "So High" are particularly good, and these songs follow his intended theme, of living for God as a response to his love. The band is very capable and Jeff's voice should be appreciated by most listeners. Though this isn't a classic worship album it is better than average.
