In his South African homeland Jason has already made a dent in the Christian music scene with the second album he fronted with the Johannesburg-based band Reason winning the Gospel Pop Rock Album Of The Year title at the South African Music Awards. This is his debut solo release and features a couple of ex-Tree63 men, John Ellis (guitar) and Thinus Odendaal (drums). In fact, Ellis helps out on lead vocal on the title track. Other standouts are "Never Stop", with a biting guitar riff, a cover of WorshipCentral's "Guardian" which for me surpasses the original and "Trouble" with a memorable keyboard sound and some powerful lyrics ("We all get ourselves in trouble and we fight and we bleed and we struggle/But the hand that moves to shape you is the one that holds you high.") This is a top rate release from a talented singer/songwriter with the potential of connecting with an international audience.
