Jason is an award-winning Spanish guitarist living in the West Country and a Christian to boot. Soon Jason's somewhat eclectic style began to work its magic - chords rooted somewhere between flamenco and fusion, lead lines owing something to the blues (not the football team, I hasten to add!) -make for a hypnotic album which kept me in suspended animation over the stop button and never let me press it. There were some great ideas in there but most of the slower, introspective melodies were played in the tremolo style most punters would associate with the "Recuerdos De La Alhambra" by Tarrega. I felt that this was a fairly "safe", tried and tested technique for Jason to fall back on and he would have been better letting the music breathe a little at times. On the duo tracks the mixing was a little awry for my taste leaving Jason's lead line as exposed as a streaker on K2 but he acquitted himself well for the most part.
