This mini-album from US gospel singer Janice Gaines stems from a battle with postpartum depression which saw the multi-award nominated artist having to reconnect with the roots of her faith - not least in a musical sense. As a result, Gaines lends her substantial vocal talents to well-worn hymns like "How Great Thou Art", "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and a bossa nova version of "What A Friend We Have Jesus" and, whilst old chestnuts like these are obviously dear to Gaines' heart, the real spark happens when she tackles arguably less familiar material. For instance, a sublime piano and voice version of C Austin Miles' "In The Garden" and the Ben Abraham-penned title track - the latter complete with brooding gospel choir backing vocals - showcase Gaines' ability to make each song her own whilst a fine take on the Andrae Crouch classic "My Tribute (To God Be The Glory)" presses home the fact that Gaines has one of the best gospel voices of the current age.
