You may have discovered this band on the soundtrack for Prince Of Egypt where they played with Boys II Men or on 'The Emperors New Groove' where they sang with Sting. The title of this album gives a clue to the ministry heart of the band. Here's a nine piece vocal group who don't want to just sing it, they want their lives to be a proclamation. Musically, this is very accomplished contemporary gospel with splashes of more traditional sounds and even a little bit of soul thrown in. One highlight is the ballad "Believe In Yourself" which gives the group the chance to wrap plenty of vocals around a slow burning groove. At the other end of the scale they throw in some fresh R&B sounds on "Get Your Praise On" and there're plenty of funky soul on the celebratory "He's Been Good". Meanwhile "My Soul Loves Jesus" has a more old fashioned feel showing that the group can create traditional stylings too. There is no doubt that James Grear has fashioned a fine vocal group, my only criticism is that while the songs here are well produced and performed, there isn't anything new here that isn't being done by a hundred other gospel groups.
