This is an independent offering from Jackie and Terry Mills, formerly of early-'90's Midlands folk/pop band Nuffsed (though the sparse liner-notes don't tell you that, nor, unfortunately, do they provide lyrics). It's a largely acoustic studio set and the folk influence remains strong. Strong too is the spiritual content of all lyrics, giving a focused, heavenward feel. Three tracks in particular have a Celtic inspiration, not least the over-short, non-cliched "Celtic Visions", co-written by a certain Tony Cummings (I'm sure I've heard that name!). Certainly both Terry and Jackie have fine, folky voices (Jackie leads on two tracks), and the musical selection is quite varied. But the overall sound is more than a little dated and one or two tunes/song-lyrics are more than a little twee (eg, the album title itself made me cringe slightly, as too did track two, which emphasises the potency of the "three little words, 'I love you'"). While some of these melodic tunes are genuinely appealing, I'm afraid this isn't a disc I'd hurry to play to my friends, Christian or otherwise.
