Producers David Clifton and Mark Russell have done a wonderful job here in fusing some contemporary worship music elements to traditional Christmas ones yet ensuring stylistic coherence in the process. I really like the arrangement of "O Come O Come Emmanuel" with a simple pop rhythm, an excellent lead vocal by Dave Clifton and soprano sax which beautifully interjects. On this and elsewhere the entrance of the Peterborough Cathedral Choir produces goose bumps with their exultant, other worldly voices rising in praise to the miracle of the incarnation. An album which demonstrates that, despite all the protestations of jaded Cross Rhythms reviewers, that when produced as thoughtfully as this, there is still mileage in "Silent Night", "For Unto Us A Child Is Born" and "In The Bleak Midwinter".
