Reviewed by Andy Cooper This is the first release from Ignited, a punk band from Nuneaton, UK. Honestly speaking it is a bit rough, but that's what punk is all about: doing it yourself, your own way. Drawing influence from Blink 182, Rancid, Underoath and others, the guitars are heavy and ferocious and the drums are so fast they are almost out of control. The band are not quite as tightly together as they could be but then if they were, would they be so punk? Maybe not. Even so, the production and recording could certainly be better: it sounds like the band is under water at times, losing the crisp edginess that it needs. The lead vocals aren't really rough enough either: still a bit too school boyish, as are the lyrics at times. But like all good punk, there are no holds barred regarding subject matter: sex, politics, death, failure. Having said that, the Gospel message and Christian perspective of such matter is never hidden.
