As Izzy B, Isaac Butcher enjoyed considerable success touring and recording with Daniel Bedingfield when the New Zealand-born popster was still working dancefloor grooves into his eclectic musical armoury, and later working with numerous club music big hitters. Now he's back with a new name, a new album and a new approach, surprisingly adding self-played trumpet to his propulsive techno rhythms. The title track is particularly effective with its witty fusion of crunching rhythms, a trumpet riff and spoken passages proclaiming "In the beginning, there was God." and "Out of nothing you became something." Almost as good is "Lift Your Voice" complete with an auto-tune vocal. Sometimes the effect is less impressive. "Horns Of Jericho" is too jerky and doesn't really progress anywhere while there's too much auto-tune on "Wanna Love" though lyrically throughout the album is clearly affirming the living God. On the whole, this is a welcome return by the producer and turntablist and one can but hope we'll be hearing one of these cuts in the form here or in a remix in clubland before too long.
