Having evolved down the years from a mass choir to a small choir this ambitiously staged live album has some top rate guests, including that gifted worship leader Noel Robinson, the soulful voice of Nathan Prime and that fast rapping raga man The Watchman. In fact it's the song "Trust In The Lord" which gives this album one of its most electrifying moments. In truth, the album takes time to get going, the blandly devotional "Sacrifice Of Praise" followed by the reading of Psalms 150 is a heartening declaration of spiritual intent but hardly makes for the most dynamic of openings. Maybe it works better on the DVD. Then we've got a track called, inelegantly, "Instrumental" but as that's based, rather questionably, on the Jackson Five's "I Want You Back" it was a bit of a relief when some soulful emoting finally started to happen. IDMC are a UK gospel institution and I salute them. But I'm not sure this curate's egg of a live album is the best example of their considerable gifts.
