Five years after releasing her debut album, 'Ravens', this Portland-based singer/songwriter here brings us another gorgeous piece of work. This time produced in conjunction with Evan Way of the Parson Red Heads and Danny O'Hanlon from Bungalow Studios 9, the album was released through Deeper Well Records. Holly Ann continues to gift us with deep, contemplative lyrics that reveal the maturity and depth of her own personal journey. The track "Sweet Peace" is a highlight as the listener can lose themselves in the backdrop of Holly's vocals and the accompanying piano to lyrics such as, "Oh drown me in to your grace/That I may see your face in me." Teamed with a fuller band this time, 'Light And Bloom' reveals some of Holly Ann's musical influences, such as Emmylou Harris and Mazzy Star, showing that her sound has also grown up with her and will welcome a new audience to follow this young artist. "Jericho" is a great display of Holly Ann's edgier side and full band sound. The entirety of this work fully captures the highs and lows of life and faith with beauty and vulnerability, perfect for both those times of quiet reflection and to accompany a road trip adventure.
