Reviewed by Simon Eden Australians singing in Spanish doesn't sound like a great concept, but Christians of different tongues singing together in unity is clearly quite heavenly. This is the third Spanish language album from Hillsong released to support the Aftermath Spanish Tour of South America in November 2011. These are all familiar tracks from recent Hillsong albums 'God Is Able', 'Faith+Hope+Love' and 'A Beautiful Exchange' which actually comprise exactly the same instrumental backing tracks as the originals, but with only the vocals changed. The vocals have all been translated and re-recorded by Hillsong members, such as Darlene Zschech on "Lo Grande Que Eres Dios" (The Greatness Of Our God) and Reuben Morgan on "Dios Es Poderoso" (God Is Able), with other lead vocals from a variety of other names such as Dave Ware and Toni Romero who thankfully is Spanish. The question isn't if the songs are any good; as a compilation of Hillsong tracks, of course they are going to be brilliant. What surprised me is how well the Spanish lyrics scanned with the original tracks. It didn't sound like words had been forced to fit in as the rhythm of the new lyrics matched the rhythm of the original instrumentation. What I can't answer is how good their pronunciation is. I just wonder if Hillsong did a World Tour, if they could do an album in English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi-Urdu, Russian, Arabic, Swahili, etc.
