Large churches across the world are today releasing an avalanche of modern worship albums but few are as good as this one. Higher Vision are the worship band at Higher Vision Church, Los Angeles and 'For Your Kingdom' is their debut album. As their worship pastor April Ashburn says, "There is something for everyone," and indeed there is. "Higher" is a really uplifting track that makes you want to jump up and down and clap along while "Freedom Of Your Love" is probably my favourite with a great bass line through the verses building to a chorus that any church with a live worship band could use. The ensemble then go into a more worshipful mode with "We cry Holy" conveying a real sense of prayer and "Set Our Hearts" building to a rockier climax before bringing us back down again. Throughout, the musicians and singers are of a high calibre. For those drawn to Hillsong, Jesus Culture, et al this is a live set which impact you in the same way.
