Christian music enthusiasts with long memories might remember when Pilgrim/Marshalls rather ineptly distributed Benson albums and one saw piles of old Harvest imports unsold and presumably unwanted selling at bargain prices at Christian fests. Not surprising really. This soft pop gospel duo are hardly musical pioneers and never having toured the UK or even played Greenbelt, Harvest seemed forever destined for the bargain bins despite their large US following. If (a big if) this doesn't get lost in the torrent of new Word releases 'Carry On' might just start to find a British audience. Harvest's ninth album is classy, faultlessly produced inspirational pop with two warmly warbling voices encased in all manner of synths, saxes and rock guitars. The lyrics are direct proclamations of faith and devotion and stay just the right side of the cliché line.
