This is the Ohio-based band's 2016 album and pretty good it is too, with a neat blend of full on quartet vocals, some tricky R&B rhythms and, on one or two tracks, a strong hip-hop-infused sound. Their biog says they've been influenced by classic soul acts like the O'Jays and The Ohio Players, and you can definitely hear traces of both acts in their powerhouse music. There are three remixes here, presumably of songs from an earlier album, though it's the Babyface-influenced acoustic soul "Paid" which is the best of the three. Of the new tracks, "Show Love" is one of my favourites. Its lyrics tell two stories, one of a homeless man and another of a single mother. HMH encourage us to not just say we love them but we need to show love to them with physical action. Another of my favourites is "Breakthrough" as it challenges us not to give up but to work through tough issues with Jesus guiding us. A good album to have playing later at night and one you can certainly just take time to chill to.
