In the hip-hop realm of bling, misogyny and f-word excess, Stacy "Coffee" Jones and Teron "Bonafide" Carter have long been carriers of another kind of message and this album continues their proud musical journey. One standout cut is "Bobbin' Bouncin'" which, along with "Hittin' Curves", which features a delicious R&B/Marvin Gaye groove, has made it to the Cross Rhythms radio playlist. There are plenty of tracks here spelling out their faith, though the hectoring female voice on "Anybody" gets perilously close to self-righteousness. Hearteningly, the rap veterans also take on "difficult" subjects with "Gutter Boy" dealing with the stomach-churning theme of hip-hop's gangbang culture. The backing track on this is amazing, featuring what one magazine described as "synthesised gurgles and what sounds like a creepy Gregorian chant by androids." Well up to the guys' usual high standards.
