I’ve been a big fan of Christine Glass’ hauntingly feathery vocals since I first heard her ‘Human‘ 1997 album. Now she’s formed a new partnership with singer/songwriter Marc Byrd, well not “new” exactly, Marc is Christine’s husband, and now the two of them follow in the well trod Christian tradition of husband/wife duos. The effect is pretty good. Lots of jangling guitars (one of co-producer Steve Hindalong’s trademarks), plenty of neatly crafted songs and rather surprisingly, Marc taking up slightly more of the lead vocals than his wife. Excellent influences abound here, from Crowded House to Jars Of Clay. If you’re looking for finely crafted songs of faith and inspiration written and sung with passion and poignancy you should check out Glassbyrd.
