The problem with mixtapes released by the ever-growing number of rappers and grime artists is that, not being "proper" releases, they are often too long ('Cityscape' has an energy-sapping 24 tracks) and the production values are so often poor (today hundreds of bedroom-studio producers offer so-so standard backing tapes for sale on the internet meaning that it doesn't take much time or money for any raw beginner to record and release a mixtape). But clearly GhostLotus has plenty to rap about and two tracks here are pretty good, "Fallen Away" featuring a delicious vocal hook from a singer I've never heard of before, Lucy Ridley-Martin, and "Lust: Belly Of The Beast" featuring a powerful flow in the genre which more often celebrates lust rather than denounces it. So this is a mixtape worth investigating for these two cuts but in future the rapper should be advised to concentrate on quality rather than quantity.
