If you, like Cross Rhythms, have been following the long music career of folk music songsmith Gareth Davies-Jones, you'll know that he has an intuitive way of presenting fine self-composed story-songs and bringing in quality literary influences from far and wide. On this set, Gareth tackles the greatest story of them all and underpins the Christmas tale with such evergreens as "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear", "The Holly And The Ivy" and "O Come All Ye Faithful". The album begins with a reflection on Advent inspired by the writings of theologian Frederick Buechner. It's a haunting first track and all in all, this is another highly enjoyable album from the travelling troubadour.
