When you have been recording for the length of time Bill Gaither has been, I think I can appreciate the "what do I/we do now that we haven't already done before" question. Well, one answer must be to find some new and original material. Of the 14 tracks here, only the classic "Peace In The Valley" and the recent Gaither opus "Happy Rhythm" were familiar to me. "Jesus Give Me Water" is a strong opener and the title track is thought provoking. There are some biblically-based lyrics on "Resurrection" and "The Night Before Easter". "Written In Red" is another strong track. Throughout the album the fine voice of David Phelps is strongly evident. My only reservation would be that the album lacks a bit of musical variety. Indeed, compared to many Gaither releases it lacks some more upbeat tracks. Maybe that was the intention. The accompaniment is also of the orchestrated variety, giving it more of an easy listening sound. It is certainly an interesting release, but for me it lacked some excitement.
