God's Chosen Trinity (GC3 or GC for short) hail from Tampa, Florida and push gospel R&B to the limits with heavy doses of dance and rock permeating their music. Citing influences as diverse as Michael Jackson, TobyMac, P.O.D., Israel Houghton and Chris Tomlin it should come as no surprise that there is quite a range of styles all underpinned with vocals that clearly have a gospel background. The rap and grunge guitar opening of "Lord I Lift Your Name On High" warns that this is not a traditional version and it has a great gospel chorus and is followed by "Unity" with a programmed dance feel and to the point vocals. There is then some more standard gospel/R&B tracks peppered with other styles, like the CCM Pop of "I Need You" with vocals by Lance Cashwell, and "Free", a great bit a rap and beatbox featuring Trevor "God Speed" Thomas, that reveals that these guys have a sense of humour and do not take themselves too seriously. While the songs and arrangements are great, there is just a sense that the production could do with a little more polish for it to stand out in a crowded market.
