With the first track making a direct reference to Liverpool, it's clear that Frontline Church has a clear focus on reaching out to its home city, and singing songs that fit in with that vision. And so starts a collection of worship songs written and performed by various members of Frontline's worship team. Like most home grown worship material, its major appeal will be to those in the church itself but this album certainly has a broader appeal. The mix of writers is reflected very much in the style of the songs, from late '80s/early '90s (think Maranatha), to a clutch of songs in current pop rock style mostly from main contributor Shane Beales. Dan Prior and Chris Taylor's production is clean and uncluttered but lacks a little depth at times (the drums, particularly the cymbals, are lost in places). Perhaps the best touches are some of the spontaneous moments that have been left in. The best tracks are "Lord I Come", which starts quietly but finishes in anthemic style. Also, the lively title track and the mid-tempo "Shine Like The Stars" are memorable songs. If there was one criticism it would be that the backing vocals have too much of a choir feel to them. But overall, good contemporary worship from a church clearly on the up.
