Four years after the first volume of 'Sacro Song', my favourite New York Franciscan monk rapper returns with a second edition of "soul stirrin' foot stompin' in ya face mystical catechisis." At least that's what it says on the cover! Melting together devotional styles with soulful grooves and his own distinctive rapping style, Fortuna isn't afraid to tackle tough issues. Have a listen to "Say Yes To Sex" if you don't believe me! It doesn't actually say what you think it'll say! There's a cool remix of "Family" which featured on the first volume and "Unborn Victims Of Violence" sits on a great groove and lyrically pulls no punches. The result is a collection of songs that stands up boldly lyrically without falling into the blandness of so much holy hip-hop. There's obviously something wonderfully quirky about this project and though hip rap purists might think it's a little too lightweight, Father Fortuna has plenty to say and says it well!
