Irishman and one time Split Level manDel Currie formed this band in the late '90s and though they have slipped through a few line up changes and settled themselves in California, they have consistently recorded top class music. This new set is no exception. Famous for having lost their last album in a Californian fire when their studio burnt down, I was worried history might repeat itself but this emerged fully intact as a download album from their website and from 17th March will be available in the UK through Fierce!. Firmly throwing themselves into the mainstream American rock scene, Fono have always managed to match driving modern rock with strong melodies, powerful riffs and plenty of creativity. Driven by the solid yet fluid rhythm section of drummer Andy Ridley and chick bass player Cindy Cate, there's plenty to excite rock fans especially with the layers of guitars provided by Currie and Soren Engen. There's plenty to enjoy here and my personal favourites are "Car Crash" and the thunderous "Anything At All". This band have it all but in the fickle rock'n'roll scene, having it all isn't always enough. Enjoy!
