St Louis rapper Flame takes on the guise of a radio host providing sound biblical based answers to the problems of its call-in listeners on this, his second album. Few are better equipped to do so, his studies at Missouri Bible College utilised to great effect as he deals with deep theological truths in a way that is highly approachable throughout. "Context" is a prime example, reminding the listener of its importance when reading the Bible whilst laying down helpful practical advice. "Godhead" takes this further by exploring the much disputed topic of the Trinity through bullet speed raps cleverly interspersed with sample excerpts of preaching. Never afraid to approach often neglected lyrical themes, "War Of The Minds" deals with issues of mental illness, schizophrenia and depression by referring to biblical characters like Moses and Jeremiah, reminding us how Jesus is there for us in our struggles and fears. My only real criticism would be that at 21 tracks including the intro and outro it is slightly too long. That said, this is another strong release out of the Mid-West which draws on a variety of themes to create a clever concept record and one that is deserving of widespread success.
