Signed by TobyMac himself to his Gotee label (see this CR article for the full story), Georgia newbies Finding Favour have a lot to live up to. Epic, catchy, singable songs combined with a crystal clear production give this the feel of a much more established band. From being free from the ideals of the world, to being transformed by Jesus' love and through to Jesus always being there for us, the messages are not unique or original. However, the group of songwriters are good enough to give these ideas a fresh perspective. It's a combination of singer/songwriter storytelling, the pop-rock chart friendliness of artists such as The Script, and the worship sensibilities of Delirious? wrapped up in layers of emotion and sprinkled with folky Americana, and it works really well. They are running the risk of being a one-trick pony, but when the pony is this captivating is that really a concern? One to really look out for.
