I don't have editorial space or energy to talk about Elvis' spiritual schizophrenia, or how this man who so revered gospel music (of the Southern kind) so tragically failed to live the Christian life. Word Records, very surprisingly, are now marketing Elvis' gospel songs, in a nifty box set and are also giving a Christian bookshop airing to the pop giant doing dull and dated versions of Christmas ditties both secular ("White Christmas") and Christian ("Silent Night") and some ancient gospel standards ("Take My Hand Precious Lord") as well. For Elvis completists only.
