Elliot is currently worship leader at the Gresley Church in Swadlincote as well as being a Cross Rhythms reviewer. 'Blank Canvass' starts shakily. The first two tracks "Track One" and "Stand Up And Shout" are poorly recorded and mixed, as Elliot's voice appears to have been added over a slightly compressed backing track. However, the latter does include some clever musical ideas. Matters do improve greatly by track three with "My Heart Belongs To You" which is a simple, intimate song. Other tracks of note are the instrumental "Delirium", with its enjoyable classical piano playing and the atmospheric and slightly Pink Floyd sounding "Is There Anybody Out There?" After several plays this album has started to grow on me, and Elliot is clearly a talented musician. But the production weaknesses hold this back.
