ETW (also known as End Time Warriors) turn in a good new album full of articulate rapping. The selection of material is varied enough to keep hold of the listener's attention. The lyrics are full of good advice and display spiritual maturity in places. In particular the song "Hold On" encourages us (and more unusually gives counsel as to how) to keep going when we experience problems in our spiritual lives. Of the other tracks most notable are "Young Love" which deals sensitively with some of the problems of teenage love and the title track which takes its chorus from the well known Al Green song and in the by now familiar formula intersperses this with rap for the verses. My only negative criticism might be towards a certain attitude apparent in the lyrics towards life in the American inner city. They are encouraging people to aspire to better things, which is good, but in doing so maybe lack gentleness and compassion towards those who get trapped there.
