Dwayne Tryumf is picking up a lot of interest on the UK holy hip-hop underground. He belongs to a London-based collective called Zion Noiz who say "we are tired of uninspiring musical drivel, dished out with cynical consistency lacking substance and meaning and dulling the minds of the youth!" Now comes Dwayne's solo debut. I particularly like the line in the "Ghetto Scripture" intro, "This industry got so cold we could ice skate". The main song on this EP is "The Limit" which comes in three mixes of which the "All Star Remix" which includes Zion Noiz friends Judah and Jahaziel is my favourite although all are good. It's an honest song saying "Life push me to the limit" and boy does it sometimes. "Holding On" also includes some tasty sax. There's even a bonus track called "Don't Throw Your Life Away" which encourages us not to waste our life but give it to Christ. "The Rapture" reminds us to live our life real "Christ is real/Don't be an actor." Dwayne's EP combines hip-hop and R&B smoothly and at 40 plus minutes is great value.
