This band were planning to play the Cross Rhythms Festival but had to pull out at the last minute. Great shame. As Plaid they released a stonking album and now with the name change, their music and ministry has kicked into a whole new level. Modern rock is their musical bag, but lyrically the band pen songs that are vulnerable and broken, filled with hope and ministering straight into the heart. Powerful stuff! Whether it's the angst of the struggle against sin in "Lesson In Failing" or the snapshot of eternity painted in "Paradise" or even the simple exhortation of the pop rock opener "Believe", Downpour connect. Whether they're blending acoustic and electric sounds with loops and stacked vocals on "Hiding Place" or indulging in the soulful vocal honesty of "Hold On", this is a musically satisfying album. There are touches of dc Talk here and there but we'll forgive them that! There's a lot of US Christian rock around but this is top quality.
