Reviewed by Trevor Kirk I was privileged to meet Don Moen at the 2000 Worship Together Conference and had the opportunity to talk to him about this project. Not just another Hosanna! Music live album, although the usual ingredients are there - not least the usual roster of top quality musicians, including Steve Brewster, Jerry McPherson, Lenny LeBlanc and the Nashville String Machine. No, what makes this one special is a track list of 14 songs, which with one exception are brand new, and a choir, congregation and music team totally tuned into an act of worship that was so under the anointing of the Holy Spirit that Don told me that for the first time ever in his long career he was reduced to copious tears during a recording. The evidence is there on the album sleeve! Hosanna! Music live albums have come a long way from some of the cheesier offerings during the early part of the '90s, not least in the curbing of the inspirational excesses of worship leaders of the time, and this one ranks in among the best that they've ever released, along with 'Revival In Belfast' and 'Rejoice Africa'. Playing time is generous at over 70 minutes, although there are a few talking bits mixed in. The material is simple yet profound, full of Biblical truth, and there's a good mix of anthems and intimate acoustic material, my favourite tracks being "River Of Love" ("You're the river of love, flowing with grace and mercy/ Flooding my soul, filling my heart with peace"), and Two Hands, One Heart", a song of surrender ("Two hands, one heart, one life to offer you"). Plenty here to inspire the soul and lift the spirit and one of my favourite worship albums of the 21st Century so far.
