Another beautifully constructed set from this veteran singer/songwriter. He makes it all seem so effortless, but these apparently simple songs are well honed from decades of concert and recording schedules. He hasn't lost the immediacy; the songs by-pass the sugary aspect of country music and have a welcome integrity. The small band is very at ease playing together and the harder edge of the electric guitar drives many of the tracks towards rock. The styles vary from encouragement, "Lean Hard On Me", through worship, "Do Not Be Afraid", to the hilarious "Pants". If you don't know Don Francisco yet, this album would be a brilliant way to start.
