Remember the Pink Dandelions, those anarchic roots rockers from the Midlands? (Check out CR13) Now at least one of them (not sure which one) comes bouncing back as a quarter of a gritty new band whose pitch into the mainstream (secular if you prefer) scene has already earned them eulogies from journos and a growing West Midlands following. Impossible to classify - the press have compared them with everyone from the Sex Pistols, Nirvana, Manic Street Preachers, REM and the Beatles! Suffice to say that their songs are built on searing guitar licks from Tom Livemore (though Tom is equally adept at delicate melodic lines) while Andy Jennings' vocals exude open honesty, rage and compassion. Songs too are memorable. "Generation X" - a disturbing examination of, in the words of Andy, "a generation with nothing but illusions being suckered into chasing after dreams that don't exist" - has a punk tinge.
