I'm not sure if the rather scathing things I wrote in CR54 about Dennis's last album 'This Is My Destiny' ever got back to him: probably not, because this is more of the same stuff. The opening track "There Is Power" excited me briefly, with a funky beat, some crisp female vocals and good keyboard work, but my worst fears were confirmed when a renta-congregation began hootin' and hollerin' at the end of track one, the tempo slackened, the nattering between songs began and it all started to get terribly (in both senses of the word) inspirational. Run time on the face of it seems generous at over 71 minutes, but take into account the spoken bits, the crowd regularly going bananas and the fact that there are only 12 tracks and it doesn't seem such a bargain. Can't someone take this guy in hand and bring him up to date, because deep down he has the talent and although there are folks who love this sort of stuff, I'd guess they are a dwindling minority.
