The Deluxtone Rockets describe themselves as "swankabilly" blues and had the romping "Rumble With The Devil" on the Cross Rhythms playlist recently. Led by "crooner/howler" and youth pastor Johnny, they cite many influences, but the high energy, rockabilly honky tonk is powered along every second of every track. Each track was written out of a time of "Burning vans, broken relationships, crushed expectations and blood sweat and tears." As a result each track deals with the gritty reallity of life as experienced by the band. This, combined with their gritty soiund, makes for a powerful album. The album will be of interest to the fans of rockabilly and an excellent band to see live, though not to everyone's taste.
