Five years since the stunning debut album and Jimmy P Brown is still recording unique albums. Once again without fail Deliverance have completely altered the line up. Along with the line up change the style has had a vast alteration since the days of weapons. . . Their music has dropped a pace and has become much heavier, bearing much resemblance to Metallica. Unfortunately, I don't know if this change is for the better. Listening to this album you tend to miss the speed metal masterpieces like "If You Will" or "Temporary Insanity". The album opens up on a good note, an acoustic guitar leading into drums then letting loose the blistering guitars and violins and cellos. (Interestingly enough the drummer on this album is Jon Knox of White Heart.) The opening track "Time" leaves quite a good impression on the listener, but this originality is lost until five songs away, when Deliverance let loose a song entitled "The Rain". This song is truly one of the high points of the album. From there on the songs pick up to the old Deliverance standard we know with songs with amazing music and thought-provoking lyrics like those on "In The Will" and "Desperate Cries". The highlight of the album definitely is the Daniel Amos cover "Sanctuary". Unfortunately with their previous album 'Stay Of Execution' just reaching our shores now, I think it will be 2010 by the time this reaches here.
