Reviewed by John Fisher Detroit born and bred Deitrick brings us a more radio friendly set of R&B ditties than his previous releases. The vocal gymnastics are still evident on "I'm The One". He also has a "dig" at the urban radio stations and their reluctance to embrace creativity ("Count Your Blessings"). There is an intelligence behind his lyrics as he makes a comment on social injustice ("Heaven Knows"), and his desire to tell the world about a loving God is highlighted on "Help Somebody". This CD is full of modern R&B flavas with plenty of catchy hooks and choruses, so if you like radio friendly urban sounds with thoughtful lyrics and some spiritual insights then this is the one for you.
