Phelps has, of course, sung with the Gaither Vocal Band since the late '90s and has gained a reputation as an outstanding performer of both classical and inspirational material. Here David performs both at the Franklin theatre with full orchestra, along with members of his family. Sadly one of his sisters, Sherri (who has provided backing vocals in the past and who here sings on "You Will Never Walk Alone") died in 2012 of cancer. Contained here are also his children and his other sister Kari Lee who plays the trumpet. Material includes one of my favourites on the DVD, "Moonlight" based on Beethoven's popular sonata written after he went deaf. Also included here are inspirational songs such as "What A Wonderful World" (made famous by Louis Armstrong), and "Morning Has Broken" (Cat Stevens). "All In All" reveals the Southern gospel side and the patriotic is represented by "America The Beautiful/God Bless America". The only complaint would be the occasional interview between songs, which will become a little tedious on repeated listening. But musically, this is most enjoyable.
